September: Designing Fall
Starting with materials you can touch, one at a time

Session 1

Stone touch
Children feel a basket full of stones and choose one stone of their own. Choosing is already design. Then they draw their own world on it with acrylic markers.
Tue Sep 1 · Wed Sep 2 · Thu Sep 3

Session 2
Book →
Hanbok touch · sight
This session visits a studio where hanbok — traditional Korean clothing — is made. Children watch the makers’ hands up close and touch real hanbok fabric. Stroke it along the grain and it rustles; turn it toward the light and the color shifts. With the fabric they choose, they layer, wrap and glue something of their own.

Tue Sep 8 · Wed Sep 9 · Thu Sep 10 · We meet at the Yeonwoorang Hanbok studio (Misa, Hanam)
Same fee as the other sessions

Session 3
Book →
Rabbit color · chance
No brushes. Pour, tilt, and wait. The child chooses which colors to pour, but no one decides where they’ll flow. The child names the new colors that appear.
Tue Sep 15 · Wed Sep 16 · Thu Sep 17 · It needs time to dry, so children take it home at the next session

Session 4
Book →
Shadow light · exploration
Children search for and choose what to place: cut paper, beads, leaves picked up outside. Set under sunlight, the shapes of the objects become shadows — and the shadows become the design.
